Celebration of Graduates

Traditionally, Honolulu Community College does not have a Commencement ceremony in Fall semesters. As we all know, many of our traditions have been adjusted since the pandemic. We have postponed in-person Commencement ceremonies the last two years. For this semester, you have the opportunity to participate in an online option or abstain. Graduates who participate in the Commencement Celebration website will also receive a FREE Graduation Swag Bag filled with their diploma cover, graduation memorabilia, stickers, HonCC Graduate keychain, and more from Student Life & Development!

How will graduation be done in Fall 2021?

Graduation recognition will be done through a Commencement Celebration website to acknowledge our graduate’s achievement on getting their associates degree and/or certificate. All Fall 2021 graduates will be included and have their own personal webpage that they can share with family and friends. Graduates have the ability to customize their personal webpage by adding pictures and quotes.

The site will go LIVE to family & friends on December 18, 2021 at 8:00 AM.

Will there by an in-person Commencement Ceremony in Spring 2022?

We hope to be able to offer that option. We will announce those plans by April 1, 2022. If we do have an in-person ceremony, Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 graduates will be invited to attend.

How do I participate as Graduate?

Fall 2021 Graduates who have applied for Graduation with the Records Office can sign up here:

We advise all Fall Graduates to have their information uploaded by December 17. Registration will close on December 17, 2021 at 11:59 PM.

The site will go LIVE to the public on December 18, 2021.

How can I customize my webpage?

What can I submit for my personal webpage?

Graduates can submit the following to customize their personal webpage:

Up to 5 photos (720 dpi or higher resolution) and/or 3 personal messages (< 800 characters)
A small Photo description available for photos provided (< 150 characters)
The list of degrees and/or certificates you completed at Honolulu Community College
Categories asked to students may include campus organizations and societies such as Military, PTK, Student Leader, Kūlana Hawai’i Student, etc.

When will I get my diploma?

Diplomas take several months to process after your Fall courses are verified. So please be patient. They will be mailed to the address you indicated in the Spring.

Do I get a Cap & Gown?

Graduation caps, gowns, tassels and other memorabilia, including 100th anniversary items, can be purchased online through the campus bookstore. Honor cords are available to all those who earned honors and participate in the online site.
