Event Promoting
Promoting your Event
We are very fortunate to have various media outlets to get the word out about your event! Here are some ways to promote.
- Flyers can be submitted to Student Life & Development for postings on our bulletin boards across campus. Postings go up within 3 business days of being submitted but your posts can stay up as long as 30 days. We strongly encourage submitting your flyers up to two weeks in advance of the date of your event. Please refer to our Bulletin Boards page for Posting Terms & Conditions.
- Student Life is available as a free resource to print flyers in black & white ink on colored paper.
- Digital Signs are displayed around campus in places like the Student Lounge, the Cafeteria, and Building 7. The digital signs is handled by the Student Media Board. Please send flyers to hccsigns@hawaii.edu.
- To post on HCC’s and SLD’s social media, email us at hccsld@hawaii.edu. Be sure to provide a little description about your event/club to go along with your flyer.
- Campus-wide emails can reach all college students via their hawaii.edu emails. In order to do this, you should talk to your advisor.
- The UH Calendar is another great way to promote your event on campus. Simply log in using your UH username and password. You can read the “Getting Started” section for more information!
- Attending a Student Government Meeting to promote your event will help get the word out amongst the student body. You can go more into detail about your event and build a rapport with your student body government as well as other clubs!
- Go to classrooms and promote your event! Be sure to ask the instructor for a few minutes to share your event with fellow classmates or ask your instructor to mention a few words about your club.
Keep in mind that when you do a public posting, be sure to proofread them and provide appropriate images and text.
