Event Planning
Planning an Event
Reserving your space: So you wanna hold an event for your RISO or campus department? Whether it’s a fund-raiser or a workshop, here is where to start.
First, you will need to determine when and where your event will be held.
After you have figured out the space that you need and the date and time, your next step is to fill out a Facilities Request Form.
- Estimate Attendance: Be reasonable when estimating an amount of attendees. A small space that can accommodate 30 people usually will not fit 100 people.
- Building & Room: Where will your event be held? Be as specific as possible. If you plan to hold it in an area such as The Mall, specify which buildings and the nearby areas.
- Services Requested:
- Parking Passes are reserved for guests who plan to come on campus for your event and do not have a HonCC parking pass.
- Special Setup for a specific arrangement of the area regarding pieces of furniture such as tables and chairs. As instructed, you will need to provide a drawing or graphic displaying the specific arrangement you desire.
- Other is used for specific instructions. You may request tables & chairs in this area.
- Media service is reserved for use of technology available in the Loui Conference Room (2-211) and 2-214.
Signatures are the last items required from the applicant (officer) submitting the request, the coordinator (your advisor or Emily Kukulies) and the Dean of your department/trade. You do not need to fill out or sign the 2nd page.

REMEMBER: Make sure to follow up with your application to ensure your request has been received.
